The need of decarbonising construction is now an urgent priority to achieve the sector’s goal of zero net carbon emissions by 2050.
To attain this objective, the construction sector needs to use low carbon concrete and cement. This requires the industry to use new cements that contain less clinker, which is replaced by supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) that emit less carbon emissions than clinker.
