Throughout his studies at EPFL, our founder and CEO, Abhishek Kumar, was always intrigued by the complexities of concrete, a material often taken for granted. When he began researching its nanoscopic structure during his thesis, he couldn’t have predicted how this exploration would eventually lead to the formation of Nanogence.
At Nanogence, we’ve developed an inorganic additive that simplifies concrete preparation and extends the lifespan of buildings. By addressing issues like porosity and improving hardness, our solution enables the construction of thinner, more durable walls—reducing material use and lowering carbon emissions. A major advancement for sustainability in construction.
Now, our innovation is transforming real-world applications, helping manufacturers cut emissions, improve material efficiency, and reduce costs—all with a seamless, easy-to-integrate solution.
But this is about more than just improving building materials. With concrete contributing 7–9% of global carbon emissions, we are redefining industry standards. Our solution not only enhances performance but also significantly lowers the environmental impact of construction.
As of today, we’ve been recognized by Swissnex, Venture Lab, and EPFL, and have received support from major European concrete producers. We also won the prestigious 2023 NRMCA Innovator award.
We’re still early in our journey, and there’s much more to come.
